The String Quartet that Jams!
Comprised of some of the most talented and versatile string players in the New York area, The Metro Quartet is one of the most unique groups to emerge on the scene in recent years. Combining vocal and instrumental rock, hip hop, jazz, funk, and electronic music, the groups mission is to blur the lines between musical genres and create a style all its own. Electric and acoustic violins and cello playing funky beats, evoking sweet classical strains one minute, and rocking out like Led Zeppelin. The musicians in METRO have performed with Kanye West, Sheryl Crow, The Dixie Chicks, Perry Farrell, Moby, DJ Logic, Alicia Keys, and Ritchie Blackmore, among others. This is a new group dedicated to making creative and innovative music that will take the listener on an Alice In Wonderland like journey of musical exploration.
